When conducting penetration tests using a CCPTU probe, we utilize a di-electric module connected to an electric CPT cone or a CPTU piezocone. This allows accurate measurements of the electric conductivity of the soil and obtaining the values of standard CPTU parameters, such as qc , fs , u2. An electric measurement of the conductivity provides important lithological information and indicates the locations of conductive and non-conductive zones. This method provides additional details on soil structure and the presence of hydrocarbon contaminants.
